Reid partners with his clients to create breakthroughs in
performance, profitability and personal fulfillment. He works with
individuals to rediscover their remarkable worth as human beings
and to carry that forth with rigor and intent into their work,
into their organizations and into their lives. Reid believes that
humans fundamentally seek meaning, connection and transcendence.
He has over 25 years serving business, government and non-profit
organizations. Reid has served clients in regional banking,
computer software, aerospace, accounting, tourism, shipping,
agricultural products, pharmaceutical, graphic design, brick and
decorative products industries. Among others, he has worked with
Boeing Space Systems, Zeneca, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mont Blanc,
Inchscape, Chevy Chase Bank, SAP and the Aruba Hotel and Tourism
Authority.
Reid has also worked around the globe with the United Nations
Secretariat, World Bank and United States Agency for International
Development. He has taught at Carnegie Mellon University’s
international executive development institute.
In addition to coaching individual clients, Reid’s career has
included teamwork skills training, large scale project management,
policy evaluation, retreat and workshop design, quality
improvement projects, discovery-to-market redesign, public-private
partnership development, strategic planning, reporting systems
design, board of directors training and contractor management.
Reid graduated from Duke University and holds a Master’s degree
from Cornell University. He is certified by the International
Coach Federation, Professional Effectiveness Coaches Association
and the International Coverdale Group. Reid studied coaching with
James Flaherty at New Ventures West (www.newventureswest.com)
and
periodically sits on its coaching certification panel. He studied
negotiation skills at Harvard Law School’s Program of
Instruction for Lawyers. He is a certified user of the
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Reid recently moved to Santa Barbara after living for 30 years in
Washington, DC. He is an active member of the Santa Barbara City
College Business & Industry Associates and on the Board of
Directors of the Santa Barbara Peace Corps Association. He
volunteers at Project Food Chain. Reid is a member of the
International Coaches Federation and the American Counseling
Association.
